My husband has a big birthday next year, he is also a massive fan of Oasis. Perfect I thought, they have a tour next year I'll sort tickets for that.
Naive of me to assume it would be that easy.
So first you need to register your interest and pick three venues you would be prepared to travel to. I did that, got an email confirming I'd registered my interest. Perfect.
Next you had to wait to see if you were lucky enough to get a code that would get you into the queue to buy the tickets. I am normally not so lucky with any of these chance games, lotteries, ballots, raffles, tombola, bingo. Not for me my friend! But, you guessed it, I got a code. I got a code to join a queue today. I set alarms, had my credit card to hand and half an hour before the queue opens, I get ready to launch the waiting room.
I click the link, it logs me in, click the join queue button, 'Only those registered can join the queue'. How odd, check my email address on my sign in, normal one, try again, same message. I go onto the email, check the email address, I'd not put a full stop in between my first and last name. Oh don't I feel like a fool. So I log out of my normal account, create an account with the email address sans full stop and there is the beautiful join queue link.
I click it. 'This number is already in a queue.' No I'm not! I tried a different browser, changing my number and nothing. I contact TicketMaster and they were great, telling me to try all sorts, nothing was working. Sent me a link to verify my human status so I could change my number, I failed proving I was human 6 times! I finally did it, wouldn't let me change my number. I've logged a ticket, they're looking at it but they queue window has now closed. I've missed my chance.
I've cried about it, I'm absolutely gutted, I so wanted to get the tickets for my husband - he would have loved it and it's all my stupid fault for not putting a full stop. I don't know what to do about it, I can't afford to buy them from a reseller as they were expensive at face value and all those I know with them are accounted for.
So not only do I now need to think of something an awesome as tickets to my husband's favourite band for his birthday, I have to do so knowing it was my own stupidity that caused me to fail in the first place.
